INZ Student Visa reports

Steve Baker • March 21, 2024

Immigration New Zealand has released reports on the relative success rates of several agents with student visa applications.

The overseas education market is a large, important market for NZ education providers.

The following performance reports are from 1 August 2022 to 31 December 2023 and reflect outcomes from nine countries.

Education agent performance data reports

This INZ report shows the offshore student visa approval rates and application volumes for education agents and LIAs by market.

Approval rates in the reports are based on international student visa applications from applicants who were offshore at the time the student visa was applied for. The reports do not include education agents with low application volumes and applications that were withdrawn or lapsed.

Active Investor Plus Visa - AI+ 2.0 The New Zealand Government announced changes to NZ’s Active Investor Plus Category on 9.2.25. This signals to the international investment market that NZ is open for business. These changes from 1st April 2025 will ensure those who engage with investors will extract potentially greater investment on a far greater scale than is currently being achieved. This will finally deliver the economic benefits that the policy was designed to create. Over the past two years, we have seen a significant number of potential investors discouraged by the investor visa route into New Zealand. These changes to the AI+ settings are a refinement that removes any unnecessary complexity and rewards high-wealth individuals who wish to invest in NZ. The current settings have been unable to achieve the projected interest, and as such, increased interest and investment into NZ is highly likely.
